JHARSUGUDA: The 3rd Bn team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) from Munduli, Cuttack visited Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda on 14th and 15th June 2017 and on request by Vedanta it organised an exhibition of special disaster mitigating equipment and taught life saving techniques in emergency to the employees and the resident families at Vedanta Township.
In one of its kind exhibition organised by a corporate entity partnering NDRF , the exhibition not only showcased how NDRF responds to situations in emergency throughout the country but also was an insightful experience for the residents to know how small and easily available household materials can be used to save live in case of natural or man-made calamity. The resident of township and especially the children took a keen interest in the event as the NDRF team with their committed and dedicated way explained every detail of their efforts, techniques and services rendered so far in best interest of the nation.
Dayanidhi Behera, Head Smelter Operations hosted the event on behalf of Vedanta, where he not only met the delegation but also evinced keen interest on their efforts so far. As a gesture of thanking the team he presented the team with a letter of appreciation and said that NDRF has a glorious tradition of significant contribution to Nation in times of crisis and every Indian is proud of NDRF.
The NDRF team also visited the plant premises to understand the Aluminium and power operations facilitated by the Fire and HSE team of Vedanta Jharsuguda. Gagandeep Ojha, Head Fire Services, Vedanta Ltd. Jharsuguda, was the key facilitator for the event along with his team.
