Sesa Sterlite under its Corporate Social Responsibility has taken a initiative towards the development of women group in the society by upgrading their skills through Free Tailoring training center.
(Individuals will income Rs.3000/- to Rs.5000/- Per month.)
In the opening ceremony of Tailoring center; organized by Vedanta Foundation at Kenduguda,Mr. Pradeep Majhi-Sarapanch of Lanjigarh G.P has attended as guest and thanks Sesa sterlite for doing such type of activities for the society which will be helpful towards their development.
Similarly Mr K.K.Dave, COO Sesa Sterlite says” In our women empowerment program we are trying to support the women by various skill developments training which will be helpful to eradicate poverty from the region. . Vocational skills such as tailoring (sewing) which can help them earn more income and become economically self-sufficient and independent”
The main objective of this tailoring training program is to enhance the quality of life of women and girls through enhancement of their skills and knowledge. In order to help them, Vedanta Foundation started free tailoring (sewing) training centers in various locations of Kalahandi and Rayagada district.
In these training centers, tailoring skills are imparted free of cost. In this center around 150 Students from nearby area are trained by a qualified professional tailoring teacher and Certificates are given to those who successfully complete the course. After Completing, some women/Girls can start their own tailoring shops, while many can secure well-paying jobs in the export garment factories in the nearby areas, or sub-contract work from large tailoring shops.Previously company has supported sewing machine to 10 centers and 37 SHG groups in and around the Plant.
