Soybean, (Glycine max), hailed as the miracle bean, is the most economic source of vegetable protein for millions of people and has been consumed in Asian nations for many centuries. In the past, the taste of soya has been accepted by China and Japan only. But owing to its multifaceted health promoting attributes, the research and the worldwide acceptance of soya based products have been increasing rapidly. Consumption of soybean or derived foods has been suggested to confer multiple beneficial effects in a number of chronic diseases and medical conditions.

These effects are directly related to various phytochemicals present in soybean. In the last few decades, extensive efforts have been made towards identifying bioactive components in soy foods that are responsible for the health benefits. Among them, isoflavones and soy proteins are the two major groups of components that have received the most attention.

Like soybean, the nutraceutical attributes of Soya Milk, too have now been established. The ffectiveness of soya milk in the field of prevention, cure and/or disease control has already been explored and is a proven phenomenon world-wide.
