NATIONAL: Employees across Ebix Group’s offices in India have come together with Saahas NGO to support communities affected by the recent floods in Assam through a nationwide donation drive.
The employee-led initiative brought together colleagues from across locations to collect essential relief supplies, including dry rations, hygiene kits, blankets, clothing and other daily-use items. The collected material was handed over for distribution to flood-affected families through Saahas NGO.
Nearly 4,000 Ebix employees participated in the initiative, contributing voluntarily to the relief effort. Given the immediate needs of affected communities and the time required to transport relief material, employees were encouraged to donate non-perishable items that could be safely stored and distributed.
The collective effort resulted in the collection of more than 350 boxes of relief material. Each contribution represented the willingness of employees across Ebix Group to come together and extend support to families facing difficult circumstances.
Commenting on the initiative, a company spokesperson said, “Our people have always been at the heart of what we do. When floods affected communities in Assam, employees across our offices came together with a shared desire to help. It was encouraging to see colleagues voluntarily contribute and work together for a cause beyond the workplace. Efforts like these remind us of the importance of empathy, compassion and collective responsibility, and the difference we can make when we come together.”
Speaking about the relief effort, JB Shakleen, Project Manager, Saahas Jorhat, said, “The needs of flood-affected communities continue well beyond the immediate rescue phase. Support from organisations such as Ebix Group and its employees helps us reach more families and respond to changing needs on the ground. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference.”
The initiative also gave employees an opportunity to contribute directly to communities in need. The strong participation across Ebix Group’s offices reflected a shared commitment among employees to support relief efforts and make a positive contribution beyond their regular workplace responsibilities.
Employee-led initiatives such as this continue to play an important role in building a workplace culture based on compassion, collaboration and social responsibility. The Assam flood relief drive demonstrated how collective action across teams and locations can translate into meaningful support for communities during times of need.
