Funding includes Rs 16 crore for healthcare and Rs 5 crore for skill development among disadvantaged youth
NEW DELHI (India CSR): BC Jindal Foundation, the social arm of packaging films, energy and steel products conglomerate BC Jindal Group, has committed Rs 43 crore for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility projects in FY26-27 to support healthcare, skill development, animal welfare, nutrition, education and community development, with an expected direct reach of nearly 3 lakh people across India.
The Foundation is led under the guidance of Shyam Sunder Jindal, Promoter, BC Jindal Group. The CSR programmes will be implemented across Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana, Odisha and Maharashtra.
According to the announcement made on 09 May 2026, the allocation is aimed at strengthening community-based interventions in key social sectors. The company said the initiatives will focus on access to healthcare, livelihood-oriented skills, nutrition support, community infrastructure, education and animal welfare.
The Foundation said the funding is part of BC Jindal Group’s broader commitment to sustainability and social development.
Healthcare has received the largest allocation in the FY27 CSR plan. Out of the total Rs 43 crore, Rs 16 crore has been earmarked for healthcare programmes.
These programmes are expected to provide affordable, accessible and quality medical services. The company said the healthcare interventions are expected to directly impact around 2 lakh people.
The healthcare focus gives the CSR plan public-interest relevance, particularly in regions where access to timely and affordable medical services remains a community need.
The Foundation has allocated Rs 5 crore for skill development programmes. The initiative has delivered livelihood-oriented training to 1,600 youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The company said the programme has also achieved a 70% placement rate in high-employability sectors. The training component is aligned with the larger objective of improving employability and income opportunities among youth.
The Foundation has also set aside Rs 7 crore for community infrastructure and development projects. Another Rs 8 crore has been allocated for nutrition-related initiatives.
Education programmes will receive Rs 4 crore. These initiatives are expected to benefit nearly 5,000 children. The CSR plan also includes Rs 3 crore for animal welfare initiatives.
Together, these allocations indicate a multi-sector CSR approach covering health, learning, livelihoods, welfare and local infrastructure.
