BENGALURU (India CSR): Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, in association with OpenText as the Title Sponsor, hosted a press conference today at the Press Club of Bengaluru to announce the 19th OpenText Presents Bengaluru Walkathon, scheduled to be held on January 31, 2026, at Kittur Rani Chennamma Grounds, Jayanagar.
The press conference marked the formal announcement of the Walkathon one of, Bengaluru’s most prominent inclusive public movements, dedicated to raising awareness and mobilising collective support for persons with disabilities and individuals from underserved communities
The event was addressed by Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, Founder & Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, along with Manoj Nagpal, Managing Director, VP Professional Services, OpenText India. As a key highlight of the event, the official Walkathon T-shirt was unveiled, symbolising solidarity, inclusion, and collective participation for the cause.
About the Walkathon
Held annually to commemorate World Disability Day,observed on December 3rd, 2024 the Bengaluru walkathon aligns with the theme “Health for All”, promoting inclusivity and equitable access to healthcare
Now in its 19th edition, continues to champion the need for inclusive healthcare, holistic wellbeing, and equal access to health resources for all sections of society while encouraging healthy lifestyles and strengthening awareness on disability inclusion.
By bringing together citizens, corporates, institutions, and civil society, the Walkathon equal opportunities for individuals of all abilities, foster meaningful s community participation and reinforces the importance of building a society where everyone can thrive with dignity.

Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar remarked, “The Bengaluru Walkathon has grown into a collective movement that reflects our shared responsibility towards building an inclusive and healthier society. ‘Health for All’ is not just a theme, but a call to action for equal access and wellbeing for every individual.”
Manoj Nagpal, Managing Director, VP Professional Services, OpenText India, reaffirmed OpenText’s commitment to inclusion and social responsibility, noting that this marks OpenText’s second association with the Bengaluru Walkathon. He emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in creating sustained social impact and strengthening inclusive communities.
