JAMSHEDPUR: Urban Services, Tata Steel intends to improve the quality of the Bal Vikas Kendras (BVK) functioning at its community centers established in ‘basti areas’ (urban settlements) of Jamshedpur. As a significant step in this direction, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Urban Services, Tata Steel and Aide et Action (AEA). s, active involvement of parents and community in the education process and best utilization of the available resources in making the space of Bal Vikas Kendra more child-friendly in nature.
Mr. Biren Ramesh Bhuta, Chief, CSS, Tata Steel and Mr. Mihir Mohanty, Program Manager, Aide et Action (AEA), Patna Region, signed the MoU on 17th September.
The proposed intervention is to provide technical support to Urban Services, Tata Steel to strengthen three Bal Vikas Kendras (BVK) i.e. Sonari, ECC-Dhatkidih and Bhalubasa, in Jamshedpur, on ECCE processes.
Based on the results of the intervention, the program may get extended to other nine centres.
Key objectives of the programme:
1. Teachers preparation through scheduled capacity-building programs
2. Support in developing the curriculum for Bal Vikas Kendra
3. Providing technical support on issues of infrastructure like BALA
4. Support in enhancing parental awareness and their involvement in the said program
5. Initiative on integrated Health & Nutritional support program in Bal Vikas Kendra
6. Support in reaching to the stakeholders and advocacy need for sustained
7. Reforms of Bal Vikas Kendra
