NEW DELHI: JK Cement, India’s Premier Cement Company’s upcoming social initiative – JK Cement SwachhAbility Run is a unique run that carries a strong message about two important causes – Inclusion of Divyangs as equal and Swachh Bharat.
Celebrating the International day of Persons with Disabilities (3rd December), the run will unfold in 7 cities over a span of 7 days starting from Chandigarh on 27 November covering the GT Belt with the last day of the run in Noida.

The J.K. Cement SwachhAbility Run draws its inspiration from the spirit of selfless service, epitomized by The Indian Army and is the brainchild of Kargil War veteran Major D P Singh. A Limca Book of Records holder, Major Singh is India’s first blade runner who has more than 18 marathons to his credit. Major Singh says “There is a dire need of instilling confidence in Divyangs across the country and also change the perception of society towards them by making them showcase their hidden abilities by performing on ground. This was the guiding thought behind organizing the JK Cement SwachhAbility Run.”
This unique run has two sub events. A 10 km and a 3 km run. 10 km run is open for all to participate, however in order to encourage more participation towards the cause, 3 km run will be done alongside especially for school children and for anyone else who wishes to run a shorter distance. Schools are making use of this great opportunity for children, the future of tomorrow, to learn and be a part of this great cause. Schools children will be using the 3 km run as a platform to spread awareness about the causes in a creative and vibrant manner. After the run, the participants including Divyangs will clean a designated area as a part of the Swachh Drive.

Born to the 129 year old multi-disciplinary industrial conglomerate J.K. Organization, J.K. Cement Ltd. today is one of the top ten producers of Cement in the Country. The Company has over four decades of experience in cement manufacturing with Grey Cement plants in Nimbahera, Mangrol and Gotan, Rajasthan and in Muddapur, Karnataka with a combined capacity of 7.5 MTPA. The Company is one of the only 2 producers of White Cement in India with a capacity of 0.6 MTPA making J.K. White Cement the second largest manufacturer in the country which has been in existence in the market for over 30 years. Other value added products include brands like J.K. Wall Putty, J.K Primaxx, J.K. Super Grip and J.K. Water Proof Compound. The Company exports White Cement to a number of countries across the globe.
As a part of its new initiatives, the Company has had Brown field expansions of 3 MTPA. An integrated plant at Mangrol, Rajasthan having a capacity of 1.5 MTPA and another at Jhajjar, Haryana with a split grinding unit producing 1.5 MTPA.
Having established a strong presence in India, the Company has made its first international foray with the setting up of a green-field dual process white cement-cum-grey cement plant in the free trade zone at Fujairah, U.A.E to cater to the GCC and African markets. The plant at Fujairah has a capacity of 0.6 million tonnes per annum for White Cement with a flexibility to change over its operation to produce upto 1 million tonnes per annum of Grey Cement.
