WEST BOKARO: The Tata Steel Health and Safety Policy is the foundation for driving safety consciousness in the Company.
To achieve the corporate objective of Committed to Zero LTI (Loss Time Injury), Zero Incident Month Campaign was launched at Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division on Friday at its Coal Beneficiation (CB) Complex.
On the occasion, all the employees of the division along with the contractor employees took pledge to reaffirm their commitment towards safety. The launch marked the beginning of a month-long series of activities that the Division has lined up for safety at workplace which includes hazard hunt competition, housekeeping competition and safety quiz among employees.
Dignitaries visited the safety gallery specially put up for the occasion that highlighted various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) especially the Red SOPs and Monsoon Action Plans of various departments of West Bokaro Division.
Highlighting the importance of such safety functions for reinforcing the positive behavior at workplace, Kuchroo said, “Participation from all employees is necessary to achieve the target of zero incident. Monsoon is round the corner and this month-long celebration in Safety will help us focus and prepare for no injury incident.”
Kuchroo also urged everyone to escalate any safety issue that they come across to the highest level if necessary to get it resolved.
He added that Contractor Safety Management needs to be improved with the active involvement of all Contract Owners (CO), Contract Administrators (CA) & all vendor partners.
Mahto said, “We all have to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and involve competent work force to mitigate risk at the Workplace.”
All the winners of the various competitions scheduled in the month will be felicitated in a grand closing ceremony scheduled on June 29, 2018 at Auditorium, West Bokaro.
Among others present on the occasion were officials of Tata Steel, union representatives, employees, vendor partners and contract employees of the Division.
