Mumbai: On the occasion of Children’s Day, YES BANK through its YES COMMUNITY platform engaged with 75,000 children across schools in India, with the objective of igniting these young minds to be the ambassadors of change and trigger a sense of cleanliness. YES BANK branches conducted screenings of inspirational films on cleanliness, environment and kindness as a part of YES FOUNDATION’s YES! i am the CHANGE@Schools initiative. The children also took pledges on ensuring cleanliness at their school, homes and surroundings, thereby, becoming responsible citizens.
These films were among the 1750+ film entries received pan-India for the YES! i am the CHANGE 101-Hour Indian Social Filmmaking Challenge held between August 15-19, 2014. More than 50,000 youth from all states of India participated in the Challenge and the top films were selected by an eminent jury, that composed of filmmakers and educationists.
Speaking about the campaign, Ms Namita Vikas, Senior President and Country Head, Responsible Banking, YES BANK Ltd said that “Cleanliness fosters pride and improves productivity, contributing to the overall development of community. There is an urgent need for all to commit to this national cause. Through campaigns like these, YES BANK aims to encourage children to be stewards of healthier communities and help society achieve higher standards of cleanliness by bringing about a behavioural change towards hygiene.”
