NEW DELHI: ECORUN, a movement to unite people of the nation to create awareness about air pollution, was organized by Greenlco Eco Foundation on 5th June 2015, World Environment Day ‘The ECORUN was flagged off from Dilli Haat Janak Puri, New Delhi by Rajesh Rishi . Around 300 people participated in the. 3.5 Km. run.
This was followed by a Painting / Poster Competition for children of all ages, the topic being, environment and air pollution. Approximately 250 children participated & expressed themselves, making use of flamboyant colours.’ Snakes and Ladders’ kept the children and parents engaged. The game was designed to equip the young ones with eco-friendly practices and Road Safety.
Greenlco unveiled a campaign to save the Yamuna called ‘Hamaari Yamuna- (Lifeline Delhi Ki)’. Kapil Kishore Saxena, Director and Founder of the organization, spoke about the objective to save not only the river, but also about conserving water.”The effort has to begin from our homes” he said.
An LED BULB, made in India, by FIEM Industries, was launched on the occasion. The bulb is eco-friendly, saves energy and is reasonably priced. ‘Bijli Bachao, LED Lagao’ campaign will soon be popular all over India.
Greenlco Eco Foundation has been sensitizing the masses about degrading environment and offering solutions. The campaign, ‘care for DELHI air’s-STOP- (Stand to Oppose Pollution,) managed to convey the seriousness to combat air pollution. Greenlco hopes people will gradually change their lifestyles and mindset to save water as well.
