Rajesh Gopinathan joined TCS in 2001, and since then, he has held various positions within the company. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of Business Finance in TCS. Under his leadership, TCS has continued to grow and expand its business globally. In 2019, TCS became the first Indian IT services company to cross the $100 billion market capitalization mark.

Initially, Rajesh Gopinathan was given the Financial management role in the company when he was hired as vice president. In 2013, he was appointed as CFO.
