Fulfilling Corporate Responsibility

Vimta Labs firmly believes that as an economic organ of society, it should nurture the community and environment on a scale appropriate to its economics. In line with this belief and the mandate of Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, the company had a total CSR obligation of Rs 1.16 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2025. This obligation is calculated as two percent of the average net profit of the company for the preceding three financial years, which amounted to Rs 58.105 crore. By spending a total sum of Rs 1.16 crore on approved CSR activities during the year, the company fully met its obligation, ensuring no amount remained unspent U/s.135(5) of the Act. The Secretarial Auditors confirmed in their report for FY 2024-25 that no amounts remained unspent pursuant to any ongoing project requiring transfer to a special account. The CSR Committee confirmed that the implementation and monitoring of the CSR policy complied with the company’s CSR objectives and policy. The CSR projects and activities are managed independently from Vimta’s normal business activities.

Focus Areas for Societal Nurturing

Vimta’s CSR policy outlines core areas of focus for its activities. While the source lists the activities undertaken, it doesn’t explicitly list the “core areas” here, but the nature of the projects indicates a focus on education, health, and support for vulnerable populations. The CSR policy itself is disclosed on the company’s website. The company carries out CSR activities to build a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker/needy sections of society.

Investing in Education and Skill Development

The company provided support totaling Rs 2 lakh to Vidya Bharathi to run schools, hostels, and other institutions aimed at promoting education in villages and tribal areas. Furthermore, initiatives focused on skill development for unemployed youth were supported through contributions to Dharmapuri Educational Charitable Trust (Rs 60,000) and Yuva Education Society (Rs 50,000).

Additionally, support for providing nutritious mid-day meals to children, conducting health camps, and life skills training was channeled through The Akshaya Patra Foundation (Rs 1 lakh), Divya Gnana Charitable Trust (Rs 1 lakh), and Sri Ramakrishna Sevashrama (Rs 1 lakh). Healthcare services were also supported via Abhinav Rural Education Society (Rs 80,000), and healthcare and sanitation through Andhra Mahila Sabha (Rs 20,000).

Supporting Environmental Sustainability and Animal Welfare

Beyond human-centric initiatives, Vimta Labs also extended its support to environmental sustainability and animal welfare. A contribution of Rs 2 lakh was made to People For Animals, an organization involved in ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agroforestry, conservation of natural resources, and maintaining the quality of soil, air, and water. This aligns with the company’s broader commitment to operating with responsibility.
