LANJIGARH: Vedanta Aluminum Ltd under its Public Relations work has partnered and participated in Car festival at several places of plant periphery. Thousands of devotees poured in with religious fervor and enthusiasm to take part in the grand Rath Yatra (Car Festival) at Lanjigarh which was organized by Sri Sri Harihar Sanskrutik Seva Samiti in association with Vedanta Aluminum Ltd.With lots of devotees and kirtan, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra was taken out from the Jagannath temple on Wednesday evening to Mausima temple.
Devotees including the Dongria Kondha people of Niyamgiri Hill area beheld the Pavitra Ratha Yatra which was also attended by Dr. MukeshKumar, President & COO VAL. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mukesh Kumar said, “Development of the community can be made only by the participation & partnering of the people .Vedanta is a responsible corporate to enhance the culture and tradition of the community and their preservance”.
On the eve of car festival, Mr. Sibaji Majhi MLA Lanjigarh has inaugurated the foundation stone of New Jagannath Temple which need to be constructed under the MLA fund.
Also Smt.Adarsha Gupta –President (Vedanta Ladies club), dentist Dr Chinky had also participated in the car festival.
Similarly VAL officials such as, Mr. Koustav Kundu – Head HRD ,Jalaj Malpani VP Finanace,D Ravindranathan also participated in the festival. All the members of Harihar Sanskrutik Seva Samiti conveyed their thankfulness to Vedanta for extending support to organize such a grand festival. Many local leaders were present during the festival including, Chandra Pesnia, Sridhar Pesnia, Sribatscha Tandi, Subash Agrawal ,Himadri Pesnia, Sanatan Rout, Srimukha Agasti, Kamraj Dalbehera and others such as Chitta Panigrahi,Alok Gaya, Sidhartha Behera,Sunil Panda & Bhagaban Hota etc participated in the various place of Car festival.
The police team with the supervision of Mr. Pratap Rana (IIC-Lanjigarh PS) had done a tremendous job in maintaining discipline in the famous festival.
Apart from Lanjigarh, Vedanta celebrated Rath Yatra with the local community in many nearby areas like Ambodala, Muniguda, Bissumcuttack, Bandhapari and Narla which was attended by many tribal people. Some public related iconic projects were displayed by Vedanta on the center of the market in all puja places.
