JHARSUGUDA: Employees of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda lent support to the Pulse Polio Immunization program conducted by National Health Mission and District Health Department from 10 – 12 March.
Led by the company’s CSR Dept. and Employee Volunteerism Program (EVP) representatives, 70 employees worked with the organizing bodies, Wockhardt Foundation, Anganwadi and ASHA workers in 14 peripheral villages, Jharsuguda Railway Station, Bus Stand and Vedanta Township, helping immunize more than 2178 children and sensitize over 10,000 people during the course of the camp.
The three-day Pulse Polio Immunization program was first in the series of employee volunteering programs designed by Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda’s PR and CSR departments to create avenues for employees to contribute to the social good in meaningful and effective ways.
More such programs have been planned by the EVP team in the upcoming months. The company firmly believes in contributing to the socioeconomic welfare of the community and EVP is a strong step in that direction.
