BALCONAGAR: An exhibition was put up at Balco Learning Centre on the occasion of Vedanta Group Chairman – Anil Agarwal’s one day visit to Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (Balco). The exhibition displayed Balco’s community development projects.
The exhibition was put up with the support of various NGOs to apprise Mr. Agarwal about various projects like Unnati, Watershed, Jalgram etc. The NGOs and the all women self-help groups formed by Balco acquainted Mr. Agarwal in detail about the support they were receiving from Balco.
Agarwal met the trainees of Vedanta I.L. & F.S. Skills School and the differently abled students of Divya Jyoti School present at the exhibition premises. The handicapped children sang a song in honour of Agarwal. Agarwal wished the differently abled students a bright future. In the programme such former trainees of Skills School were also present who were now self-dependent. These successful youngsters received their certificates of merit from the hands of Agarwal. On this occasion Abhijit Pati, CEO-Aluminium Sector, Mr. Ramesh Nair, CEO & WTD, Balco, Mr. Rahul Sharma, Head-Corporate Affairs, Mr Sandeep Agarwal, CFO, Balco were present along with many officers.
The exhibition also saw the presence of Mr. Bandhan Singh, Sarpanch, Village Dondro,, Anil Deshmukh Panch, Mrs. Phool Bai, Panch, Kaushal Patel, Member-Janpad, Mukhi Singh, Village Secretary, Bhuvan Singh, M.L.A’s Representative, Manihaar Singh, Village Patel, Ramayan Singh, Former Sarpanch, Village Bhatgaon, Pratap Singh, Former Panch, Village Bela and Mr. Bajrang Singh Rathiya, President, Bhatgaon Watershed Committee along with a large group of people from villages in the vicinity who came to meet Mr. Agarwal. The villagers apprised Agarwal about the community development projects being run by Balco in their villages and about the benefits from the projects.
Agarwal also met the team of e-mag ‘Balco Today’ and Balco T.V. News Bulletin. He advised that the TV news bulletin should be made more effective and positive news should be reached to more and more people.
Agarwal was welcomed in the exhibition by an entertaining performance by Karma Dancing Group. Ashish Ranjan, AGM-Community Relations apprised Agarwal about the various community development projects being run by Balco. Dr. Someshwar Sriwastwa, Regional Head of An NGO – Afpro, Dickson Masih, President- Shrot, Rahul Kashyap from State Aids Control Society were also present in the programme.
