The report notes a data-led approach, stronger partnerships, and increased community ownership
NEW DELHI (India CSR): In a testament to its unwavering commitment to societal upliftment, Uno Minda Limited, a global leader in automotive components, released its Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for FY 2024-25 recently. Titled Inspiring Futures, Upholding Responsibility, the report spotlights transformative initiatives under the Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (SNMF), impacting over 7,000 children and 1,500 youth and women across education, skill development, healthcare, and community infrastructure. Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), these efforts underscore Uno Minda’s vision of fostering self-reliant communities while driving sustainable business growth.
The 43-page document, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), details the company’s transformative initiatives through the Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (SNMF). It underscores a commitment to creating measurable social impact while fostering transparency and stakeholder trust, complementing Uno Minda’s Integrated Annual Report.
The report highlights progress across four core pillars—Education, Skill Development, Preventive and Curative Healthcare, and Community Development and Well-
being—reaching thousands of underprivileged individuals in regions like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and beyond.
Infrastructure enhancements, such as RO water plants and sanitation upgrades, have further uplifted rural living standards.
The report reveals a year of scaled impact, with SNMF’s programs reaching underserved regions in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and beyond. Key highlights include:
- Education: Over 7,000 children benefited from remedial classes, digital learning in government schools, and infrastructure upgrades. The Samarth Jyoti community schools reported stellar board exam results, with students excelling in Classes 10 and 12. The Suman Nirmal Minda Schools in Detroj (Gujarat) and the newly launched Hosur (Tamil Nadu) institution ranked among the top performers, emphasizing holistic development through counseling, teacher training, and extracurriculars.
- Skill Development: Nearly 1,500 individuals, including women-led entrepreneurship programs, received training in tailoring, beauty culture, and digital literacy. Stories like that of Geeta Devi from Pantnagar, who turned vocational skills into a sustainable livelihood, exemplify the shift from learning to earning.
- Preventive and Curative Healthcare: Thousands accessed free health and eye screening camps, menstrual hygiene awareness sessions, and primary care—many experiencing their first formal check-ups. These initiatives enhanced health outcomes and promoted long-term well-being in rural pockets.
- Community Development: Critical infrastructure like RO water plants, sanitation facilities, and school kits improved living standards in multiple villages, fostering dignity and inclusion.

Dr. Suman Minda, Chairperson of Suman Nirmal Minda Foundation (SNMF), reflected on the Foundation’s evolution from grassroots efforts to a beacon of measurable change. “What began as a personal commitment to support marginalised communities has evolved into a focussed and enduring mission dedicated to creating meaningful, measurable change,” she said. Highlighting the human element, Dr. Minda added, “Over 5,000 individuals gained digital literacy skills, giving them a distinct advantage in today’s technology-driven world. Through health and eye screening camps, we reached thousands—many receiving their first formal health check-ups and essential referrals. We strive to ensure that children receive quality education, women and youth gain sustainable means of livelihood, families have access to essential healthcare, and critical civic infrastructure reaches those who need it the most.”
Echoing this sentiment, Gaurav Kumar, Head-Group CSR at Uno Minda Group, emphasized the strategic pivot towards outcome-driven interventions. “At Uno Minda, every milestone reaffirms our commitment to trust-led community engagement and creating a lasting impact. We continue to advance with strategic and sustainable CSR interventions, making meaningful progress across our four core thematic areas,” Kumar stated. Looking ahead, he shared, “Our future direction focuses on scaling our efforts while staying closely attuned to local needs ensuring that every intervention remains inclusive, relevant, and sustainable.”
The report also notes a data-led approach, stronger partnerships, and increased community ownership, with no external assurance but rigorous internal validation. As Uno Minda marks 65+ years of automotive excellence—with 37,000+ employees and a global footprint—these CSR strides reinforce its decoded vision: a sustainable, technology-led organization that cares for people like family.

The report also celebrates milestones like the Detroj school’s ranking among the Top 15 in the Times School Ranking and over 5,000 individuals gaining digital literacy skills, providing a competitive edge in a tech-driven world. Health camps reached thousands, many experiencing their first formal check-ups, while community infrastructure addressed critical needs for dignity and safety.
