India is facing a health crisis with a steep rise in COVID-19 cases in 2021. Gujarat reported significant number of COVID-19 cases like many other states in India. This has resulted in pressuring the health infrastructure resulting to a situation wherein hospitals are facing shortage of beds, oxygen cylinders, ICU beds, vaccines, and other essential means to mitigate and treat the spread of pandemic.
United Way of Baroda has been devoutly working to meet up to the needs of Government and Trust hospitals who are fighting against COVID-19 all over Gujarat state. UWB is providing Covid medical facilities, equipment’s, Medical supplies, family ration kits to hospitals and disadvantage communities.
United Way of Baroda in collaboration with SABIC – a global leader in diversified chemicals under UNITED AGAINST COVID-19 response initiative launched in the month of April 2020, donated.
• 11 units of 5 litres of Oxygen concentrators
• 15 EMCO 4850 MPM Patient Monitors
• 4 Max Proton plus make ventilators
• 200 litres liquid Oxygen tank to the Government and Trust hospitals such as SSG Hospital, Samras hospital, New Life Hospital- Pioneer Medical and Paramedical Campus, Narhari Amin Hospital, and Premdas Jalaram Hospitals.
Medical equipment’s were handed over to Nodal officer- Dr. Minoo Patel Nodal Officer for New Life Hospital and Samras Hospital – extended arm of SSG Hospital, Dr. Jagdish from Premdas Hospital by Dr. Binita Verdia, Chief Executive Officer – UWB on 21st May 2021 and Chetan Soni – (Sr. Manager, Mfg. CMPD Baroda) and Dipak Shah – (Manager- EHSS) were present virtually for the donation event.
“It is our continuous effort to be of service to the society as part of our CSR programs in collaboration with United Way of Baroda. Today, it is even more imperative for us to stand by the Government and our communities to address the challenge resulting out from the pandemic. Towards this, SABIC is continuing the CSR efforts by making necessary donation that can help in administering timely treatment to the ones impacted”, said Chetan Soni-Senior Manager, Manufacturing, SABIC Innovative Plastics India Pvt. Ltd.

United Way of Baroda will keep on extending its support being the forefront to fight against COVID-19. Efforts are still going on to reach to the needs of the Government and trust hospitals in terms of provision of various medical equipment (Advanced), medical consumables and variety of hygiene kits will be reaching.
Urge has been still prevailing to the people of Vadodara to take care of complete precautions and also contribute towards UNITED AGAINST COVID-19 RESPONSE INITIATIVE to save precious lives of people.
