Kondagaon, Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel officiated the inauguration of a significant new establishment: The Tribal Rest House. Designed as a hub for various social programs, the facility is a beacon of hope for the local tribal communities, reflecting the government’s commitment to social development and inclusivity in the region.
A Beacon of Elegance
The Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, expressed his pride and satisfaction at the completion of what he deemed “the most beautiful building in Chhattisgarh.” This newly constructed establishment promises to serve as a cornerstone for cultural and social events in the region, and its strategic location on National Highway 30 enhances its accessibility.

Facilities and Amenities
Constructed with an investment of 2 crore rupees, the Rest House is not just architecturally significant but also fully equipped to meet diverse needs. It hosts a spacious assembly hall, waiting and accommodation rooms, official chambers, conference rooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. There are also toilet facilities and 13 shops to cater to various needs. Located in the heart of the Bastar district’s headquarters, this two-story building is designed to accommodate a myriad of events and occasions.

Commitment to Social Welfare
The inauguration event underscored the government’s commitment to social welfare, with a provision of over 9 crore rupees announced for the construction of social buildings for 54 communities in the Kondagaon district. The investment aims to foster an environment where tribal communities can access social programs with ease and convenience.

Distinguished Guests
The inauguration was graced by several eminent personalities including Kawasi Lakhma, the Excise Minister; Deputy Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Santaram Netam; and Minister of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Mohan Markam. Also in attendance were Member of Parliament for Bastar constituency, Deepak Baij, and various other officials and representatives from the community including District Panchayat President, Devchand Matlam, and Collector, Deepak Soni.

Community Representation
Representatives of All Tribal Society and Gondwana Society marked their presence, highlighting the unification of various tribes in acknowledging and celebrating this new addition to their community. The presence of President of All Tribal Society, Bangaram Sodi, and President of Gondwana Society, Budhsingh Netam, exemplified the communal harmony and collaborative spirit characteristic of the region’s diverse tribal populace.
