Indian ai film making has traditionally been associated with huge budget’s, costly equipments, heavy VFX teams, and tons of unwanted money allocation. however, new digital ai tools are enabling creators to produce similar or even better cinematic outputs at a 1000% less cost!

A recent pre-wedding ai film created by Harry Ranveer for his formerly wife Ashwini Ranveer has brought attention of over 100,000+ folks on Youtube, with 230+ engaged comments.

This was Produced using AI-assisted filmmaking techniques on a reported budget of around ₹7,000, the project has drawn attention of over 104k+ individuals already, demonstrating how technology can support cinematic storytelling at a much smaller scale.

The Established Language of Cinematic Production

In Indian cinema, visually rich song sequences and montages are an important storytelling device. These productions typically involve detailed planning, specialised crews, location shoots, choreography, and extensive post-production work. The scale of such projects contributes to the immersive experience audiences associate with theatrical films.

This production model has evolved over decades and continues to define the visual identity of mainstream cinema. High production values, coordinated teams, and physical locations remain central to creating spectacle and emotional impact on screen.

The Disruptive Power of Small Scale Creators

The pre-wedding film by Harry & Ashwini Ranveer represents a way different & a lot more productive workflow. Rather than relying on physical locations or large crews, the project combined basic live footage with AI-generated visuals to create expansive environments, faster vfx and consistent visual tones.

AI tools were used to assist with background creation, lighting enhancement, motion smoothing, and colour grading. The focus remained on emotional pacing and visual coherence rather than scale. Online reactions to the film often noted its cinematic feel, with 235+ viewers expressing surprise at the modest resources involved.

Better Workflows, Better Economics

The contrast between multi-crore productions and a Rs 7,000 AI-assisted project reflects differences in workflow rather than quality. Traditional productions depend on physical infrastructure, large teams, and extended schedules to manage complex shoots. These elements offer reliability and control but naturally increase costs 1000x

AI-enabled filmmaking introduces virtual solutions that reduce the need for travel, large crews, and long production timelines. This allows creators to experiment more freely and complete projects efficiently. For independent filmmakers, wedding filmmakers, digital content creators, freelancer, Marketeers or any random individual who wants to bring his idea to reality, this approach can significantly lower barriers to entry.

Technology as a Creative Enabler

Filmmakers and industry observers note that artificial intelligence functions best as a creative enabler rather than a replacement for human input. Decisions related to storytelling, framing, emotion, and performance remain firmly guided by creative vision.

In the case of Harry & Ashwini Ranveer’s film, planning and creative direction played a central role, with AI tools supporting the execution of those ideas. This balance between human creativity and technology is increasingly common across digital filmmaking projects.

Changing Audience Expectations

As audiences consume more content across digital platforms, expectations around visual storytelling are evolving. Viewers respond strongly to emotional clarity, relatable narratives, and visual consistency, regardless of production scale.

This shift has created space for a wider variety of cinematic expressions, from large theatrical releases to short-format digital films. AI-assisted projects demonstrate that cinematic aesthetics are no longer limited to high-budget environments but anyone with a laptop and an idea can do it.

A Broader Industry Movement

The adoption of AI tools in filmmaking is part of a global trend. Harry has personally through his ai workshops and training programs has empowered over 250+ such creators to create multi-crore films all on a shoe string budget. In India, where creative ambition often exceeds available budgets, these tools offer additional pathways & income generating opportunity for storytellers.

Looking Ahead

The example set by Ashwini & Harry Ranveer does not signal a shift away from traditional filmmaking. Instead, it reflects an expanding creative landscape where even low budget filmmakers can produce multi-crore looking film’s all by aligning themselves with Ai.

In a similar way that, Ashwini & Harry Ranveer were able to create a multi-crore like bollywood song as their pre-wedding video.
