GURGAON: Tenon Group, an integrated security and facility management firm, organized a state level ‘Kabaddi’ tournament in Jhajjar, Haryana. The initiative is a part of the company’s CSR program to promote talent. This tournament has been going on for 7 years and Tenon decided to be associated with the promotion of the sport as a sponsor.
April 1st marks the beginning of the tournament, and the inauguration ceremony was held at Dhor village in the presence of Brig Rajan Oberoi (Group CEO of Tenon), honorable chief guest this year. Kabaddi, one of the oldest games originated in India, has become a national level sport today. To continue the popularity of India’s oldest sport, Tenon Group is actively promoting the sport and will be sponsoring and supporting the winning team at National Level Kabaddi Tournaments.
The state level Kabaddi is organized every year by local leaders of Jhajjar with an objective to promote ‘Kabaddi’ in India. The tournament is designed to be competitive, but its special structure lays emphasis on fair play. This year’s tournament witnessed an active participation of 25 teams from regions such as Bhiwadi, Palwal, Rohtak, and Faridabad to mention a few.
This year’s tournament was a success, and saw some great numbers in footfalls. The match was followed by cultural performances by the local performers and artists.
Excited with the response from the audiences, Brig Rajan Oberoi, Group CEO said; “We believe that Kabaddi has a huge potential in India. And in the past too, Haryana has seen some leading players on a national level. We would like to give opportunities to the budding talent of the society to showcase their potential to the whole world. We strongly believe in enhancing the skills of our youth and want them reach the next level. Tenon group has always worked towards the betterment of society through various initiatives like skill India, and encouraging sports.”
He added; “Jhajjar is a vital part of CSR roadmap and we have always been at the forefront to develop the township areas. In the past, we have carried out many activities such as schools to empower the population of town. And in the future, as well, we will continue to work more towards the betterment Jhajjar.”
