Mumbai: Tata Power’s nationwide water conservation initiative ‘Club Enerji’ is targeting young minds in the country to spread the message of saving water.
The trigger for this initiative is the ongoing Chennai water crisis. The initiative is aimed at explaining the people the need to conserve natural resources.
“We at Tata Power, through our ‘Club Enerji’ programs, want to spread the message of water conservation to as many citizens as we can” Mr. Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tata Power said .
“The module will not only inform citizens about the benefits of saving water but also educate them on how one can do it themselves”, he further added.
The company has developed visual contents and series of educative videos about several aspects of saving water at home, in the community and cities. The film shows the importance of water in generating electricity and how saving electricity helps in saving water.
Chennai’s water crisis is the most recent example why people need to realise the impact of water shortage. Water is a basic need for human existence but 2.1 billion people around the world did not have access to safe drinking water and the number has gone up to 2.2 billion this year which enlightens the need of water conservation.
India occupies only 2.45% of all the land area on the earth and only has 4% of world’s water resources, it is imperative that people realise the importance of this natural resource.
