DHAKA (India CSR): In a major collaboration to tackle youth unemployment and promote entrepreneurship, Standard Chartered Bangladesh and BRAC have jointly launched a nationwide initiative titled “Empowering the Future.”
The programme aims to equip 1,500 young people aged 18 to 35 with essential skills training, mentorship, entrepreneurship development, and job placement support. It will focus on sectors with high local demand and operate across Gazipur, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, Bogura, Chattogram, Rangamati, Bandarban, and Khagrachhari.
The partnership agreement was signed by Naser Ezaz Bijoy, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Asif Saleh, Executive Director, BRAC, in the presence of senior leaders from both organisations.
Officials said the initiative aligns with Bangladesh’s broader economic goals under Vision 2041 and will promote self-employment, inclusive growth, and rural enterprise creation. It combines Standard Chartered’s global experience in financial inclusion with BRAC’s extensive grassroots outreach and implementation expertise.
Through this partnership, both organisations aim to enhance employability and entrepreneurship skills among the youth, fostering sustainable livelihoods and contributing to the country’s long-term economic resilience.
