NEW DELHI (India CSR): The STAIRS Foundation (The Society for Transformation, Inclusion, and Recognition through Sports) has officially announced the ‘Delhi Against Drugs’ (DAD) Run, scheduled for November 17, 2024, at 6:30 AM. This initiative aims to combat the rising issue of substance abuse among youth, inviting citizens to participate in the fight against addiction. The run will commence at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium West Gate Pavilion and is expected to attract over 5,000 participants across three categories: a 10 KM run, a 5 KM run, and a 3 KM walkathon.
Addressing Substance Abuse
Shri Nikhil Nanda, Managing Director and CEO of JHS-Svendgaard Laboratories, is a prominent member of the STAIRS Against Drugs (SAD) Mentor Committee. He emphasizes the importance of promoting a drug-free lifestyle. “The DAD Run is a great step toward raising awareness on drug abuse and reaching out to key stakeholders—children, youth, families, and educators,” Nanda stated. His vision is to create a ripple effect, expanding this initiative to various cities across India.
Community Engagement
The DAD Run aims to unite diverse groups, including students, defense personnel, and citizens committed to a drug-free future. The event is supported by stakeholders from law enforcement, business leaders, and academia, all coming together to combat substance abuse. Shri Sunil Arora, Chairman of the Mentor Committee, remarked, “This run is not only a run but a powerful message to society, signalling that together, we can defeat this menace.”

Shri Siddhartha Upadhyay, Founder and President of STAIRS Foundation, highlights the initiative’s importance in addressing the growing drug menace. He stated, “The DAD Run is one of our many efforts to fight this grave threat as part of our STAIRS Against Drugs initiative.” This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat, inspiring community engagement and personal responsibility among youth.
