Spark Minda Foundation (SMF) is the CSR wing of Spark Minda Group and has been executing programmes for the Group since its inception in 2014. The main aim of SMF is to work for community development by catering to Education, Livelihood Promotion, Women Empowerment, Facilitation of Healthcare, Upliftment of People with Disability and to Sustain the Environment.
In keeping with this aim, the Foundation runs projects and programmes for the communities in the rural areas of 5 states of India, namely, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
Sarika Minda, the Chairperson of Spark Minda Foundation said the organization empowered over 8000 persons with disability under its National CSR Award winning program ‘Saksham’.
Ms. Minda was speaking at India CSR Boardroom Dialogue organized by India CSR, India’s largest and prestigious media organisation.
Saksham Program, she said- was conceptualised in the year 2014, as a result of the desire and determination of the GCEO and the inclination of the board to give back to the society, especially to its marginalised and discriminated sections. This programme takes a holistic approach to empowerment and upliftment of Persons with disabilities.
The programme’s approach attempts to provide support to PWDs through assistive aids, help them gain financial independence by creating inclusive spaces and job opportunities, help them access key governmental support policies through UDID registration. “Saksham” as a programme aims to become a one stop initiative for PWDs.
She said that the CSR program was initiated in the year 2014 by Spark Minda Group to help Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) has won National CSR Award 2019 conferred by Honorable Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman in the presence of the President of India.
