MUMBAI: Lifetime Achievement award was conferred to Sir Dr. Huz (Huzaifa Khorakiwala), CEO and Trustee, Wockhardt Foundation received at World Clean Environment Summit organized by National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research (NICER).
The award was given by the committee of International Association of Educators for World Peace (Affiliated to United Nations) and the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU).
The award was conferred upon him for his outstanding academic and professional career and his achievements in the areas of health, education, water and sanitation. In line with the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat mission to instill a behavioral change towards cleanliness; Sir Dr. Huz through Wockhardt Foundation has been consistently working on protecting nature through two of its programmes – the Swachh Bharat Recycle Machine and the Pronto toilets and biotoilets.
Commenting on the award, Sir Dr. Huz said, “Working towards the betterment of society and environment is my passion; receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award is a great honor and privilege in itself, I thank the organizers and jury. I dedicate this award to all my partners and warriors who strive whole-heartedly for betterment of society. I will continue doing my bit towards the environment and our society.”
Sir Dr. Huz has in the past been bestowed with Knighthood from the Ecumenical Medical-Humanitarian Order, Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. He has also received an Honorarium Doctorate from the Indian Virtual University for Peace and Education for contribution to society; D.Litt (Doctor of Letters) from CIAC Global in affiliation with KEISIE International University, South Korea, and Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) from Commonwealth Vocational University, Kingdom of Tonga.
Through the Wockhardt Foundation, Sir Dr. Huz has touched millions of lives through various initiatives like Little Hearts, Pronto Toilet, Pronto Bio-Toilet, E-Learning, Khel Khel Mein, Wockhardt Skills Development Institute, SHUDHU water purification tablets and Adarsh Gram Yojana, Mobile 1000.
The theme for the World Clean Environment Summit organized by NICER was “Clean Environment for a Cleaner World”.
National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research has been established by the Afro-Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, Occupational Research and Development (ACCORD) with a view to translating the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for ensuring a cleaner as well as a greener India.
