Jharsuguda: Under it’s nationwide ‘Maryada’ Campaign Sesa Sterlite Limited (SSL), Jharsuguda and SSL Promoted all women Subhalaxmi Cooperative joined hands for contributing to the ambitious cleanliness drive Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

In a kick off ceremony held here at Siriapali on 8 October 2014, the women members of Subhalaxmi pledged to do its own bit in this national cleanliness drive along with Sesa Sterlite. Mrs.Roma Balwani, President- Group Communications, Sustainability & CSR, Ms.Vikas Goswami, Head Community Relations, Mr.Abhijit Pati, President & COO, Dr.Rajeev Nayan, Head Business HR form Sesa Sterlite were Guest invitees to the occasion who were warmly greeted by Mrs.Pushpanjali Seth, President of Subhalaxmi Cooperative and other Board of Directors.
Around 300 lead members of Subhalaxmi participated and passed a unanimous 10 point resolution to make their locality clean and healthy and committed to start this campaign from the four walls of their house and gradually taking it to the common places which includes village school, roads, drains, ponds etc.
Lauding the efforts of the members of Subhalaxmi, Mrs. Balwani and Mr. Pati committed their ardent support to this initiative by the members and assured all possible support for this campaign in the coming days. Besides other initiatives special emphasis was also given to equip each household in the area with a toilet for which the members resolved unanimously to carry out a campaign in near future.
As a token of appreciation in a symbolic gesture the team from Sesa Sterlite presented cleaning accessories to the cooperative to encourage their campaign. Employee volunteers from Sesa Sterlite along with CSR and PR team also actively supported for the cause. Community members hailed the efforts of Sesa Sterlite and also showed their commitment in this noble cause.
