Dimapur: State Bank of India (SBI), under its “corporate social responsibility”, Friday donated computer sets to 12 schools within Dimapur at a programme held at Town Hall Dimapur.
The computer sets to the schools were to be handed over by DC Dimapur N. Hushili Sema, but due to emergencies, she could not attend the programme. However, SBI Guwahati general manager, Farooque Shahab, who was the guest of honour, handed over the computer sets.
Before handing over the sets, the SBI Guwahati general manager addressed the students and teachers and acknowledged their presence. He said such programme was being carried out across the length and breadth of the country.
He opined that the “gift” would make the students acquire more knowledge not only in academic but also in music. He lauded the songs presented by the students from different schools.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by AGM, SBI, RBO, Dimapur, B.K Srivastava, DGM SBI, Jorhat South, also addressed the gathering, while the vote of thanks was proposed by chief manager, lead bank, David Kire.
