Ms Safeena Husain is Executive Director of Educate Girls. Educate Girls. Educate Girls is a project of Mumbai based non-profit organization “Foundation to Educate the Girls Globally (FEGG)” which works towards improving girls’ enrollment, retention and academic performance in government schools by leveraging existing community and government resourc. FEGG was founded in 2007.
Last week, Educate Girls has been awarded with the prestigious EdelGive Social Innovation Honours (ESIH 2011) for its outstanding achievements in improving girls’ enrolment, retention and academic performance in Government schools in Rajasthan.

FEGG was founded in 2007.
Ms Safeena has been working for girls’ education in India since 2002. She has worked extensively with rural and urban underserved communities in South America, Africa and Asia. She has 15 yrs of experience in working on grassroots projects around the world and started community health projects in Ecuador, Mexico, Bolivia, and South Africa. From 1997 to 2004, she was the Executive Director for Child Family Health International in San Francisco and was also Board Chair for International Development Exchange.
She served on the Advisory Council of the Clarence Foundation and supports several schools and orphanages for underserved children in rural Maharashtra. Safeena holds a BS from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
