NEW DELHI: Rusen Kumar has been conferred with the prestigious ‘CSR Person of the Year Award’ for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India.
Dr. Paul Dhinakarn– Chancellor of Karunya University and Dr. Chandan Mitra – Former MP (Rajyasabha) and editor and MD of Pioneer Newspaper honoured him at India International CSR Conclave & Awards (IICSR) held at PHD Chamber of Commerce, New Delhi on May 11, 2017, in the presence of CSR dignitaries and corporate leaders. The conclave was organized by Karunya University and SEESHA with the support of CSR Vision, Nagrik Darpan, Kalam Centre and other reputed organizations. During the forum some of the leading corporates were also awarded for CSR best practices.
Rusen Kumar (40), who runs his social-enterprise from a very small town – Raigarh in Chhattisgarh, is a leader with strong roots in media and journalism. He has rich flavour in the areas of social entrepreneurship, social journalism, and social-economic development.
He is accredited with establishing one of the largest CSR portals (www.indiacsr.in) in the globe with a mission to promote and communicate the best practices of corporate India’s Sustainability and Responsibility Practices.
The portal has been making significant contributions through adding new dimensions and perspectives to the domain of CSR and Sustainability. India CSR Network was founded in January 2009.
