BANGALORE (India CSR): Royaloak Furniture, India’s No. 1 furniture brand, has donated three custom-designed meal delivery vehicles to The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The donated vehicles will be added to Akshaya Patra’s existing fleet of 90 Food Distribution Vehicles in Bengaluru, and will be used to distribute mid-day meals to government school children across the city. The flag-off ceremony took place at ISKON, Rajajinagar, Bangalore, where Royaloak founders and Vijai Subramaniam and Mathan Subramaniam handed over the vehicles to representatives from The Akshaya Patra Foundation – Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice Chairman, Sri Raghukula Nandana Dasa, Associate VP – Resource Mobilisation, and Sri Ratnangada Govinda Dasa, General Manager, Food Division.
Vijai Subramaniam, Chairman and Co-Founder, Royaloak Furniture, shares a deeply personal connection with this initiative. A first-generation entrepreneur from a small village in Tamil Nadu, he has journeyed from modest beginnings to lead one of India’s top furniture brands, shaping his belief in the power of opportunity. This donation reflects his commitment to causes that uplift children and enable access to education.

“We are deeply inspired by Akshaya Patra’s vision and grassroots impact, and to be able to give back to the community, especially supporting children’s nutrition and education, is a cause close to our hearts and a privilege for us,” said Vijai Subramaniam. “When the opportunity arose to contribute in a meaningful way, we did not hesitate. We are grateful to be able to support Akshaya Patra in their mission to ensure no child is deprived of a healthy meal and the opportunity to learn.”
Mathan Subramaniam, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Royaloak Furniture, added, “As followers and supporters, we have always admired the scale and spirit of Akshaya Patra’s work. We hope these vehicles will go a long way in strengthening their distribution reach, making a real difference in the lives of thousands of children daily.”
The event was attended by senior leadership from both organizations and community representatives.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation currently serves over 2 million children every day, providing mid-day meals that not only alleviate hunger but also encourage school attendance and improve learning outcomes. The new vehicles will add to the Foundation’s growing delivery network, allowing freshly prepared, nutritious meals to reach more schools across the city.
