MUMBAI : Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Trustee and CEO of Wockhardt Foundation, has been felicitated by the Rotary Club of South Mumbai for his outstanding work in CSR and in the field of rural healthcare implemented through the foundation’s flagship programme Mobile1000
The felicitation ceremony was done at a panel discussion organised by Rotary. The event was attended by Dr. Habil Khorakiwala, Chairman, Wockhardt Group along with other dignitaries like Mr. Rahul Bajaj and Mr. Motilal Oswal.
The felicitation was also to recognise the ‘Best CSR Project in Healthcare’ award bagged by the foundation at the recently concluded India CSR awards
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Huzaifa said “We are happy that Wockhardt’s contribution to the field of healthcare has been recognized by various platforms. This award bears testimony of our constant effort to provide basic healthcare services to the rural masses. I humbly accept this recognition on behalf of the selfless devotion of all our warriors”
Mobile1000 is an ISO 9001:2008 approved flagship programme of Wockhardt Foundation that provides free primary healthcare to villages of India through mobile medical vans.
The program conceptualized and spearheaded by the foundation’s CEO and Trustee, Dr. Huz (Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala), involves the operation of mobile medical vans that travel through remote rural regions in India and provide primary health care services to millions.
It is operating 52 Mobile 1000 vans pan India in 14 states – Karnataka, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh. Total patients screened till date 13.6 million.
