NEW DELHI: Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO of ReNew Power, has expressed his endorsement of the Union Budget 2023 -24 presented by the Honorable Finance Minister. He welcomed the balanced approach taken by the budget, which focuses on expanding support for infrastructure, promoting small industries and agriculture, while maintaining fiscal discipline.
Sinha praised the allocation of Rs. 35,000 crore for energy transition and energy security as a major step towards the government’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2070. He also highlighted the significance of the budget’s support for Battery Energy Storage Systems, transmission infrastructure in Ladakh, biogas projects, and the scrapping of old vehicles.
The CEO expressed his excitement for the recently announced Rs. 19,500 crore allocation for the National Green Hydrogen Mission and looked forward to seeing further details. He believes that the budget will give a boost to clean energy in India and ReNew Power is committed to supporting the government in its efforts.
