Quick Heal Foundation: Empowering through Digital Security

PUNE: Quick Heal has reached out to over 10,000 students in Pune and more than 25,000 students across India through their cyber awareness programme conducted in schools. Quick Heal is an excellent example of alignment of CSR with core business. Being an IT security solutions company, it has rightly taken up cyber safety and security as part of its CSR initiatives.

Cyber Awareness

People in India, especially the young generation, are rapidly moving onto internet usage as they now have easy access to the internet through mobile phones, tablets, laptops and PCs. Digital security is of utmost importance in the current scenario.

quick healQuick Heal believes that progress is possible only with a deep commitment to community welfare. It conducts cyber safety and awareness workshops for school and college students, teachers and parents as an integral part of its corporate vision. It is an ambitious cross-district project to educate, empower and protect India’s young cyber citizens on the topics of online safety and security, digital citizenship and information literacy.

Digital domain being their area of expertise, Quick Heal conducts cyber awareness programme for students in municipal and private schools in Pune, enabling them to understand the dos and don’t s of Internet usage and educating them on various privacy settings available on browsers and social media sites.

Through cyber awareness competitions and online training modules for students, Quick Heal has reached out to over 10,000 students in Pune and more than 25,000 students across India, in the year 2014-15.

Quick Heal have reached out to over 40 schools in PMC and PCMC areas. The company also has an online training module for cyber awareness with free access for all.

The Cyber Safety Awareness workshops that Quick Heal conducts in schools are an ambitious cross-district project to educate India’s young cyber citizens on the topics of online safety and security, digital citizenship and information literacy

Taking Action

Quick Heal conducts cyber awareness competitions, online training modules for students and campus workshops. Quick Heal CSR team identifies schools and approaches them to run their awareness programme. A team of 60 student-volunteers from city colleges has been trained to reach out to schools and give presentations to children on digital security topics.

Future Plans

Quick Heal has signed an MoU with Yashwantrao Maharashtra Open University to start a post graduate course on cyber security from January 1, 2016 for financially weak students across India. In addition they plan to continue with cyber awareness programme and reach out to needy students.

Other Activities

Quick Heal has adopted Katkar Vasti Village in Paud. Quick Heal has helped the village by constructing a bore well, water tank, and other facilities. The company has built an 800 sq. ft. community and recreational hall in the village with a monetary outlay of Rs. 15 lakh. They are training villagers on planting fruit and medicinal trees in an attempt to make them self-employed. They also run a day care center for katkari children in association with an NGO.

Quick Heal has partnered with Pankh NGO, a counseling center, to provide sex education and life skills training to students from PMC schools with a monetary outlay of Rs. 12 lakh for the year 2015-16.
