QuEST and Airbus Engage in Development Activities with Adopted Schools

QuEST and Airbus employee volunteers help construct new school facilities in BangaloreIndiaCSR News Network

Bangalore: In their joint efforts to uplift the student community, QuEST Global and Airbus employees engaged in school improvement activities at the A. NarayanapuraGovt Model Primary School located near the Krishnarajapuram Railway Station, for the second time in a row. Through this effort employee volunteersparticipated inan initiative that includesthe following over the last one week:

  • Paint the exterior and class room walls of the school
  • Clean and repair rest-rooms
  • Construct a store room for sports goods and first aid kits
  • Level the playground and fix poles for volleyball
  • Health check-up for students
  • Science activities for students

The project was graced by Dr Ajay Prabhu – COO, QuEST Global and Dr Matthew Orchard – Airbus, Head of Engineering Wing.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Ajay Prabhu – COO, QuEST Global said,“QuEST Global is a 17 year old company. We want to build, a company that outlives us and builds the future for many to come. It is my belief, based on my personal life experiences that, education plays a critical role in shaping communities and their people. We have currently adopted some schools and through such sustained initiatives over a period of time, we hope to create significant impact.”

Dr Matthew Orchard added that “Airbus is happy to be back again this year in our joint initiativesupporting education and improving communities in India along with QuEST Global.”

The school currently houses up to 8th standard and around 350 students with an opportunity to enrol more children from neighbouring areas.

The programme culminated with a function to recognize the children of the school and to encourage them further in education.

Notable is the fact that QuEST Global has adopted the school to contribute in multiple ways on a long term basis.

CSR at QuEST is focussed on educating and supporting underprivileged children. The company believes in creating sustainable jobs and believes each time a job is created, it not only impacts an individual and their family, but also the community at large. By educating underprivileged children and creating an environment to nurture local talent, QuEST believes it is laying a strong foundation for a better tomorrow for the entire community.

QuEST currently supports three schools at various levels:

  • Government Model Primary School – A Narayanapura, Bangalore, India
  • Government Junior Technical School – Hubli
  • ZPH School – Gowdavalli, Hyderabad
