The Anil Agarwal Foundation, through initiatives like Nand Ghar, continues to touch lives, proving that education and love can break barriers, one child at a time.

MUMBAI (India CSR): A wave of joy swept through the community as Maharashtra welcomed its first Nand Ghar, a transformative initiative by the Anil Agarwal Foundation. Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Director at Vedanta Limited and Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc, shared her heartfelt emotions on LinkedIn, capturing the human essence of this milestone. “Even though there was a language barrier—the emotions were enough,” she wrote, reflecting on the inaugural event that took place in Thane, on March 21, 2025.

The Nand Ghar project, aimed at empowering rural women and children, goes beyond infrastructure. It’s about creating spaces where young minds flourish and communities thrive. In Thane, this vision came alive in a vibrant classroom buzzing with laughter and creativity. Children in blue uniforms, their faces lit with curiosity, sat around green tables, coloring pictures of fish and flowers. Priya, draped in a traditional outfit, joined them, her hands gently guiding theirs as they drew. The walls, adorned with colorful educational posters, echoed the promise of a brighter future.

For Priya, this moment was deeply personal. “Feels great to set this journey off in Maharashtra, a place I’ve called home for such a large part of my life,” she shared.

Her connection to the state added a layer of warmth to the event, as she interacted with the children, high-fiving them and sharing smiles that transcended words. The kids, some wearing red hair ties and bangles, clutched their crayons with excitement, their small hands creating art that symbolized hope.

As Priya noted on LinkedIn, this is just the beginning of a journey to nurture India’s future.
