GREATER NOIDA (India CSR): PhysicsWallah (PW), an education company, has announced an initiative to plant a total of 1000 trees at ITBP Greater Noida, intending to improve soil fertility, microclimate, and biodiversity while trying to strengthen the green cover of the area.
Carefully Selected Tree Species for Lasting Impact
The 14 resilient tree species chosen for this initiative have been carefully selected for their ability to thrive in the region’s challenging soil and water conditions, aiming for a lasting positive impact on the local environment. Species such as Gulhar, Kadam, Kachnar, Banyan (Bargad), Tulsi, Curry Leaf, Ashoka, Neem, Jamun, Sheesham, Guava, Sweet Lime, Orange, and Pilkhan will help combat air pollution, enrich soil health, and aiming to foster a self-sustaining green ecosystem for the future.
Environmental Benefits of Tree Plantation
Planting trees helps in improving air quality, absorbs carbon dioxide, prevents soil erosion, and supports biodiversity. It helps regulate temperature, reduce the impact of extreme weather, and enhance public health by providing cleaner air and shade. Increasing green cover is essential for a healthier and more sustainable environment.
Collaboration with Give Me Trees Trust
PhysicsWallah (PW) is planting these trees in association with Give Me Trees Trust, who have 47 years of experience in tree plantation, ecosystem restoration, and environmental education. They have also planted and nurtured over two crore trees across India.
