GURUGRAM (India CSR): PepsiCo India, in collaboration with The Social Lab (TSL), hosted the 6th edition of the Plog Run at Leisure Valley, Gurugram, marking Swachh Bharat Diwas. The event aimed to promote fitness and sustainability, with nearly 500 participants jogging while collecting plastic waste. The initiative, aligned with PepsiCo’s ‘Partnership of Progress’, saw partnerships with Varun Beverages, CultFit, and others to raise awareness on plastic circularity.
Flagging Off the Event
The event was flagged off by Paralympian Akhlesh Kumar along with Jagrut Kotecha, CEO of PepsiCo India & South Asia; Sahil Arora, CEO of The Social Lab; and Vikas Bhatia, Executive Director of Varun Beverages Ltd. Participants, including PepsiCo and TSL employees, students, and local citizens, collected over 400 kilograms of plastic waste during the run.

Fitness and Sustainability Combined
The Plog Run began with a warm-up session led by CultFit and a friendly football game on Gatorade’s Turf Finder. Participants jogged through the Leisure Valley area, collecting plastic waste along the way. The collected waste will be recycled, contributing to PepsiCo India’s sustainability goals.

Commitment to Sustainability
Yashika Singh, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Sustainability Head, PepsiCo India, stated, “Our ‘Partnership of Progress’ reflects our commitment to fostering collective action for a greener future. We are proud to see it come alive through the Plog Run, bringing together communities and organizations to ensure plastic waste is responsibly recycled.”
A Collaborative Effort
Sahil Arora, CEO of TSL, added, “The Plog Run embodies our shared commitment to sustainability and community engagement. Together, we are encouraging fitness and environmental stewardship, proving the positive impact we can make when united for a common cause.”

Expanding Nationwide
The Plog Run has been organized across multiple states, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, with future events planned in Kolkata and Assam. PepsiCo India and its partners, including Varun Beverages, Quaker, and Decathlon, continue to drive awareness about responsible plastic recycling through initiatives like this.
