New Delhi: Under the umbrella of Panasonic Eco Relay, Panasonic in India – a leading diversified technology company today organized a tree plantation project in Daulatpur area where the Delhi Govt is developing an educational & eco-tourism site for the entire Southwest Delhi region where there are 48 government schools with over 15,000 children. This project will generate livelihood within the local communities in the areas of nursery management, plantation and aftercare. Panasonic has partnered with Heartfulness Institute for this project with the key objective – to revive endangered species and foster a sustainable ecosystem for future generations. To start with saplings will be planted across an acre of land and maintained to ensure their growth. This project will not only look at enhancing the biodiversity but, in future will help educate students and local villagers, create livelihood opportunities for society and rural communities and combat pollution and offset carbon too.
The project was inaugurated in the presence of Manish Sharma, Chairman, Panasonic Life Solutions India; Akinori Isomura, MD, Panasonic Energy Company and other key dignitaries – Dr. Kulwant Kaushik, Directorate of Education, Govt. of Delhi, Rajeev Kumar, Principal, Daulatpur school, Dr. AP Tomar, Zonal Coordinator, Heartfulness Institute, symbolizing company’s commitment to restoration of forest ecosystem.

In line with that objective, Panasonic in India aims to develop a high-density mini forest in collaboration with local communities – contributing to the forest ecosystem.”
