Mumbai: 9th August 2023, Nagaon Gram Panchayat, Uran – As the morning sun cast its warm, golden rays over Nagaon Gram Panchayat, a wave of hope and care resonated in the air. ONGC Uran Plant, keeping its tradition of community care alive, unveiled a medical camp, focusing on the holistic health needs of the local populace.
A Day to Remember
Subhojit Bose, the revered ED-Plant Manager of ONGC Uran, marked the inauguration of this noble endeavor at 11 am. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of luminaries like Dr. Raj Chavan from the District Health Office Raigad and Dr. Ellis Jayakar from the Heart Foundation.
Wholistic Health Services
The camp, synonymous with comprehensive care, presented a bouquet of services for the villagers. From free eye check-ups, spectacle distribution, and respiratory ailment screenings to TB screening and the provision of essential medicines, every aspect was meticulously curated. Nutritional kits were also handed out, keeping the broader perspective of health in mind.
Medical stalwarts from renowned institutions such as Apollo Hospital and Fortis Hospital, Navi Mumbai, lent their expertise for the event. They were ably supported by a delegation of government doctors helmed by the Taluka Health Officer from Uran. Thanks to their collective efforts, around 600 residents from neighboring regions reaped the benefits of the camp.
Behind the seamless orchestration stood the relentless efforts of Dr. Sanjeev Potdukhe, Incharge Medical Uran, and Smt. Bhavna Athawale, Incharge HR Uran. Their passion was complemented by the vigor of village volunteers led by Shri Chetan Gaikwad and Smt. Ranjana Patil, ensuring the camp’s fruitful execution.

Be it infrastructural developments like sanitation, water supply, and street lighting or educational and healthcare upliftment, they’ve left no stone unturned. Their focus also encompasses empowering the youth, women, and tribal communities with skill development and self-employment opportunities.

The day concluded with a heartwarming gesture. In recognition of ONGC’s unparalleled contributions during the tumultuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ADHS office-Mumbai Division of the Public Health Department, Govt of Maharashtra, bestowed a certificate of appreciation upon the ED-Plant Manager of Uran.
