New Delhi – A National level organization set up under General Health Services, National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) organizes the silver jubilee function of The Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994.
The event emphasized on the participation of people for this noble cause and awareness of children from the beginning.
“Other departments of the government to be involved in this movement for encouraging organ donation”, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of health and family welfare urged.
“The final aim of a central digitized organ allocation system that ensures a transparent allocation to recipients, both rich and poor, can only be achieved through updated data of all states and hospitals on the national database,” Choubey said.
Choubey also unveiled the silver jubilee copy of THOA and launched the online system for the objective of “Million for a Billion” pledges.
The function encouraged the participation of people for organ donation and created awareness about the issues related to it.
