BENGALURU (India CSR): NMIMS Bengaluru has announced a comprehensive framework for ethical and responsible involvement in its academic, research, and administrative areas. With forward-thinking policies on Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI), social media, and sustainability, the institution continues to set the standard for promoting innovation, accountability, and environmental stewardship.

The Generative AI User Guidelines and Policy allow students, educators, and administrators to ethically use AI’s transformational potential. The principles emphasise ethical use, academic integrity, data protection, and informed AI tool deployment. This dynamic strategy keeps NMIMS Bengaluru at the forefront of ethical AI integration, positioning the community for leadership in a constantly changing digital world.

Dr. Narayani Ramachandran, Director, and Professor at NMIMS Bengaluru, emphasised the university’s comprehensive approach: “AI is increasingly becoming an integral part of our lives. At NMIMS, we are constructing a future in which technology is perfectly blended with responsibility to create a better future built on a strong foundation of human values. These policies are carefully crafted to cater to critical areas such as data privacy, ethical use of AI, and new-age mediums. As we prepare our students to lead the future, it is imperative to embrace possibilities that AI has to offer and how we can make the most of it, responsibly”

“This initiative is a major step in leveraging next-gen capabilities to enhance levels of learning. These policies demonstrate our commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals and entrepreneurs to power innovation, imbibe ethical behaviour, and champion environmental stewardship. By providing our community with the necessary skills and frameworks, we are fuelling them to lead with integrity, excellence, and compassion” she added.

To support these initiatives, NMIMS has established robust systems, including training workshops, centralised resources, and forums for open dialogue. These efforts aim to ensure continuous learning and improvement while fostering a culture of responsible engagement and sustainable development.

Through these transformative policies, NMIMS Bengaluru reaffirms its mission to inspire innovation, uphold ethical standards, and contribute to a sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future.

NMIMS Bengaluru has also adopted a Sustainability Oath to inspire its community to take meaningful action for a better world. The oath reads:

“I pledge to champion sustainability in all aspects of my life, striving for a sustainable, equitable, and prosperous world.

I will conserve resources, minimise waste, and protect biodiversity while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Guided by ethical conduct, moral courage, and accountability, I will act with transparency and excellence in governance.

With integrity, I commit to uplifting humanity and responsibly stewarding our planet, inspiring others to do the same.”

NMIMS Bengaluru’s Social Media Policy encourages careful and polite interaction on digital media. Recognising social media as an important instrument for communication, learning, and professional networking, the policy establishes clear standards for protecting individual reputations, maintaining NMIMS’s Bengaluru integrity, and addressing concerns such as intellectual property, cyberbullying, and digital permanence.
