NASSCOM Social Innovation Forum to provide Rs 10 Lakh grant to innovator

The Forum aims to drive CSR capital to encourage and scale innovations across relevant and topical themes.

MUMBAI: NASSCOM Foundation, in support with donor partner Mphasis Limited will provide grants of Rs. 10 Lakhs each to the strongest tech innovations that are creating social impact in areas of Financial Inclusion, Healthcare, Environment, Education and Accessibility. The grants will be given to winners from across these thematic areas.

NASSCOM Foundation today launched the 10th edition of the NASSCOM Social Innovation Forum (NSIF) – a platform to foster innovative use of technology to create sustained social impact.

NSIF is inviting entries from a diverse range of social innovators across NGOs, Social Enterprises and Social Start-ups. Application open till 31stOctober, 2017.

“The projects will also be provided with a 12-month Support to Scale Mentoring by experts in the industry as well as access to NASSCOM Foundation’s network of tech for good leaders in the country.”, NASSCOM Foundation said.

“In the last 3 years of our support to foundation, the program has scaled significant heights not only in terms of geography and number of applicants, but also in terms of high quality innovations being recognised, receiving follow-on funding and catalysing bigger social impacts.”, Srikanth Karra, Chief Human Resources Officer, Mphasis Limited said.

“The Forum has become an ecosystems encouraging tech-aided development in India. Our goal is to become a driving force for technology for good and add momentum to the change-inspiring work of social innovators. Partnership helped us in journey to solve the some of the difficult social problems that currently plague us.”, Shrikant Sinha, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation said.

The program instituted since 2008, identifies, honours and supports, innovative Information and Communications Technology (ICT) based projects, products and solutions that have the potential to address critical gaps in key developmental areas and contribute to inclusive growth.
