PARLI, MAHARASHTRA (India CSR): On the occasion of Dussehra, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, Global Vikas Trust (GVT) launched GVT Krishikul, a 25-acre farmer training center aimed at transforming agricultural practices and enhancing livelihoods. Supported by a generous contribution of INR 25 crore from the Motilal Oswal Foundation, the initiative seeks to empower farmers with sustainable farming techniques and modern agricultural knowledge.
Vision for Sustainable Agriculture
The GVT Krishikul center was inaugurated by the trustees of the Motilal Oswal Foundation—Raamdeo Agrawal, Motilal Oswal—and Mayank Gandhi, Founder of Global Vikas Trust, along with the dedicated GVT team. The center is set to become a hub for teaching innovative farming practices that can boost productivity and help farmers secure better livelihoods.
Speaking at the event, Raamdeo Agrawal shared his personal connection to the project, stating, “As someone who grew up in a farming community, I understand the challenges farmers face. GVT Krishikul is close to my heart because it not only improves crop yields but also uplifts rural communities by providing farmers with the knowledge and resources to secure their future. This initiative aligns with our foundation’s philosophy of ‘giving while living,’ ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for rural India.”
Commitment to Rural Development
Motilal Oswal highlighted the foundation’s long-term commitment to rural upliftment, adding, “Our partnership with GVT Krishikul is a step towards building a self-sustaining agricultural ecosystem. We are dedicated to empowering farmers with the tools they need to enhance crop quality and productivity, which will lead to a stronger rural economy.”
GVT Krishikul is projected to uplift 50,000 farmers and their families in the next five years by promoting community-driven farming solutions. The center will collaborate with NGOs, research institutions, and government bodies to ensure that farmers benefit from cutting-edge agricultural practices.
A New Era for Farmers
Mayank Gandhi emphasized the significance of this initiative, saying, “GVT Krishikul is not just about training; it’s about transforming the future for farmers. With the support of the Motilal Oswal Foundation, we are building a foundation for sustainable growth, helping farmers increase their income and improve the quality of life for their families.”
GVT Krishikul stands as a beacon of innovation and prosperity for rural communities, symbolizing a brighter future for agriculture in India.
