NEW DELHI: MIW Foundation NGO in association with the Indian Red Cross Society Organized a blood donation camp recently. It was organized with active support of Larsen & Toubro Limited.The camp aimed to raise awareness for the need of safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
According to estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO) India needs approximately 12 million units of blood every year. A shortage of this valuable resource has a major impact on victims of road traffic accidents and trauma victims, women with complicated pregnancies, children suffering from thalassemia, and people undergoing major surgeries.
The certificate of honour and Gifts was also given to the blood donors By Larsen & Toubro Limited.. The youths were called upon to donate the blood regularly to remove the myths prevailing in the society regarding the blood donation.
Speaking on the occasion Ashish Bhutani Managing Trustee said, “Blood donation is a noble cause and every blood donor has contributed towards community development. We thank our donors for their participation and will continue to associate ourselves with the Indian Red Cross Society for such initiatives in the near future”
Blood donation is The most valued service to mankind . Nothing is comparable to the preciousness of human blood. “The gift of blood is the gift of life. There is no substitute for human blood.
