BARBIL (Odisha): Massive plantation drive, awareness prorammes and competitions on environment theme witnessed World Environment Day – 2016 observance at Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL)’s Barbil Unit in Odisha on June 5, 2016.
Executive Vice President (EVP) and Unit Head T S Shanbhogue started the noble initiative by planting saplings on the occasion. Senior officials and employees from all departments of JSPL Barbil Unit also planted saplings on the occasion.
A meeting was also organised to mark the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Shanbhogue said “We should keep our environment clean & green for a healthy society. JSPL Barbil Unit has taken several initiatives to keep this plant environmental friendly”. He asked for cooperation of all employees, workers and community members for making JSPL Barbil unit a clean and green plant.
Shanbhogue also awarded winners of various competitions like Slogan, Posters and Essay on environment, organised on the occasion. Employees, contract employees and their family members of JSPL Barbil Unit participated in this competition organised to mark the occasion.
JSPL Barbil Unit Environment Management Division Head Subodh Kumar Singh coordinated the programme to spread awareness messages and encourage the participants.
