NEW DELHI: The Maruti driving institutes will offer high quality driving training, using driving simulators, class room instruction and practical training, Maruti Suzuki India said in a statement.
Once fully operational, the institutes in the first phase will be able to train around 10,000 learners, including women, youth and underprivileged, annually, it added.
As part of the tie-up, MSI will undertake management of the institutes. The company will provide driving simulators, training cars (with dual control accessories) and course curriculum.
The company will invest around Rs 3 crore in a phased manner under this CSR programme. Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director Marketing and Sales R S Kalsi said India needs high-quality training in safe driving.
“Partnerships will help us achieve the scale… Through collaborative approach we have touched nearly 2.5 million people, but realize that this is only a drop in the ocean” he added.
Commenting on the partnership, Punjab Government Transport Secretary Anurag Agarwal said the state would benefit from MSI’s experience and expertise in the area.
“Over 10,000 learners initially are expected to benefit from the facilities of Driving Training Institutes spread in Punjab” he added.
