NEW DELHI: In a strategic business tie up, the CEO of ATD Group, Manoranjan Mohanty has joined hands with Professor Ranjan Mohapatra to elevate the CSR activities and promote sustainable movement in India.
The newly amended companies Act 2013 has many new provisions, a key amendment is about mandatory CSR provision, where a set of companies qualifying few parameters are mandated to spend 2 % of their profit in activities to benefit the society and the environment.
After, the law was passed and became effective from 1st April, 2014 awareness about CSR has grown. The growth in awareness has increased also due to the pronouncements of the PM, in his very first Independence Day speech from the Red Fort.
However, all the awareness about CSR is limited to 2% of profit. The CSR eligible companies are concerned about spending or managing the CSR fund and comply with the law. The NGOs and other CSR implementing agencies are concerned about, how to get a piece of the CSR cake / CSR budget.
