CHENNAI: The Ma Foi Foundation, the CSR arm of Ma Foi Randstad, is inviting nominations for the ‘DISHA Young Achievers Award, 2011’. The DISHA Award for Young Achievers aims at encouraging and recognising the youngsters from the disadvantaged backgrounds, who have achieved excellence in academic, sports, arts, or community services, against all odds.
The presentation of the awards is the highlight of the Ma Foi Foundation’s Annual Celebrations, to be held on November 13, 2011 in Chennai. Instituted in 2003, the DISHA Young Achievers Award has been awarded to more than 70 children from across the state of Tamil Nadu.
The eligibility criteria for applying for the Award this year hold that the candidate should be between 10 and 16 years of age. Past recipients of the Award are not eligible to apply for the Awards this year.
Other criteria based on which the Awards will be given include:
Socio-economic background of the candidate
Degree of achievement
Levels of participation (district / state / national level)
Nature of the achievement (I / II / III place), possible hurdles encountered by the candidate
Recommendation from the school management or community service leaders as well as a personal interview with the candidates
