New Delhi: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has reached 255,000 lives through their various health care services, says L&T annual report 2018-19.
According to the report, L&Ts CSR programme in the health sector aims at making quality healthcare services accessible and affordable to everyone.
The company focuses on strengthening the government health programmes like family welfare, mother and child health, Human immunodeficiency virus- Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV-AIDS), Tuberculosis (TB), blindness control, diabetes detection and treatment and reproductive health services. It also provides services related to lifestyle diseases, including hypertension and cardiac problems.
Health centres at various locations has a team of around 90 well-qualifies medical and rehabilitation consultants and three professionally staffed, well equipped multi-speciality centres. These health centres provide tertiary health services, including family planning surgeries, eye check-ups, infertility treatment, dental procedures.
The company organises various health camps regularly covering anaemia diagnosis and treatment, primary and rubella vaccination drives, skin ailments, paediatric and gynaecological care, etc.
To prevent cancer, L&T promotes preventive education and early diagnosis of cervical and breast cancer through cancer detection camps.
As per reports, L&T also runs dialysis centres, and around 3748 dialysis sessions have been conducted with over 50 patients at the centre in Thane.
